The "Learning Journey" of Ethiopian Engineers at ETR Medical

Time : 2025-09-01

On August 30, 2025, the 10-day specialized technical training on medical gases concluded successfully. An engineer team officially assigned by the Ethiopian Ministry of Health completed in-depth learning on the intelligent medical gas system at the Hunan ETR Information Technology Industrial Park. This is not just a simple technical training, but a vivid epitome of in-depth cooperation between China and Africa in the field of medical and health care. With practical actions, ETR Medical has demonstrated its global service standards as a leading enterprise in the industry and the open cooperation spirit of "teaching others to fish".

Theory and Practice Go Hand in Hand
At the graduation ceremony, Mr. Zhang Yilong, Chairman of etr Medical, extended warm congratulations to the Ethiopian engineers who successfully completed the training. He stated that the transfer of knowledge is the highest form of cooperation, and the empowerment of technology is the key to sustainable development. ETR Medical is not only committed to providing high-quality medical equipment, but also hopes to cultivate a local engineering team in Ethiopia that can independently master core technologies through in-depth "mentor-apprentice" style training.

In his speech, the client representative from Ethiopia expressed sincere gratitude to ETR Medical for the valuable learning opportunity and thoughtful humanistic care provided. He mentioned that in recent years, ETR Medical's "Intelligent Medical Gas System" has been successfully applied in more than 10 large-scale hospitals in Ethiopia. With its stable and reliable performance, intelligent remote monitoring capability and comprehensive technical support, the system has won high praise from the hospital authorities and the Ethiopian Ministry of Health. It is precisely based on the high trust in the product quality and services of ETR Medical that the Ethiopian Ministry of Health decided to send a core team of engineers to "learn from ETR" (gain experience), aiming to cultivate a group of local technical experts who can independently manage and maintain advanced medical gas systems. The content of this training closely combines theory with practice, enabling them to gain a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the principles, installation, operation and maintenance of core products such as medical molecular sieve oxygen generation systems. He believes that this knowledge will greatly improve their work efficiency and service quality in their home country.

presented graduation certificates to each trainee. This is not only an affirmation of their ten days of hard work in learning, but also a symbol of a new starting point for cooperation and friendship between the two sides.

What is medical gas?
The medical gas system is known as the "life support system" of modern hospitals, and its stable and safe operation is crucial. The core of this training is to ensure that hospitals far away in Africa can also enjoy world-class equipment maintenance and technical support.

The engineering team of ETR Medical has tailored a training program specifically for their Ethiopian counterparts. The core of the training focuses on ETR Medical's flagship product – the Intelligent Medical Gas System. As an indispensable life support system in modern hospitals, its stable and efficient operation is directly related to medical safety. To ensure the training effectiveness, the company adopted a model that combines theoretical lectures, workshop practical operations, and benchmark hospital visits. Engineers not only systematically learned comprehensive content in the classroom, such as product principles, system process flows, equipment installation and commissioning, daily maintenance, and troubleshooting, but also entered the production workshop to operate the equipment with their own hands, turning the processes on the drawings into tangible reality.

To allow the trainees to more intuitively experience the application of the products in real medical environments, ETR Medical also specially arranged for them to visit benchmark hospitals for on-site inspections. During the visits, the Ethiopian engineers witnessed firsthand how ETR Medical's medical gas systems and clean systems operate stably in busy and complex medical scenarios. They conducted in-depth exchanges with peers from the hospital equipment departments, gaining a detailed understanding of the equipment's performance during long-term use, key maintenance points, and the actual benefits it brings to the hospital. This immersive experience gave them a far deeper understanding of the reliability, advancement, and practicality of ETR's products than what they could learn from books.

In the end, all trainees passed the rigorous theoretical written exams and practical operation assessments, fully demonstrating the remarkable effectiveness of this "theoretical + practical + hands-on" trinity training model.

Beyond technical exchanges, ETR Medical also carefully arranged a series of cultural experience activities, allowing the guests from afar to immerse themselves in the unique charm of Hunan's land during their busy study schedule. They first visited Shaoshan, the hometown of the great man, where they felt the profound heritage and spiritual strength of the red culture in a solemn atmosphere; then traveled to Liuyang, the "hometown of fireworks," to witness the stunning moment of brilliant fireworks blooming under the bright night sky; next, they visited Zhuzhou, an important industrial city, to personally experience the speed and vitality of China's modern development; finally, they took a night tour on the Xiangjiang River and strolled along the Orange Isle Head, savoring the unique style of Changsha, the "Star City," amidst the river breeze and night scenery.

These activities have not only greatly enriched the engineers' experience in China, but also narrowed the distance between each other and deepened mutual understanding and friendship. Such arrangements full of humanistic care are a vivid embodiment of ETR Medical's philosophy of "forging products with love and dedicating to patients".

For ETR Medical, selling products overseas is only the first step; building a sustainable and efficient localized service system is the long-term goal. By training local engineers, it can not only significantly improve the response speed of after-sales service and reduce operation and maintenance costs, but also enable advanced medical technologies to truly take root and develop locally. This is in line with China's long-standing foreign aid concept of "teaching others to fish" (imparting methods rather than just providing materials).

Institutions such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) have emphasized that professional training on oxygen systems for medical and technical personnel is the key to ensuring the safe and rational use of oxygen as a basic medicine. ETR Medical's training program this time is a positive practice of this concept. Why choose ETR Medical?

This cooperation spanning thousands of miles stems from high recognition of its technical strength and brand reputation. Founded in 2003, ETR Medical is a national high-tech enterprise and a national-level "Little Giant" enterprise specializing in niche sectors with cutting-edge technologies. It has been deeply engaged in the field of medical specialized systems for more than 20 years.

ETR Medical has taken steady and solid steps in its internationalization. Its products and solutions have been exported to more than 65 countries and regions around the world, serving over 3,000 hospitals globally. From the intelligent medical gas system in Peruvian hospitals to the intelligent medical gas system equipment donated to Maseru Hospital in Lesotho, Africa, ETR Medical has left its footprints all over the world, proving the reliability of its products under various complex natural environments and strict usage standards.

The visit and training of the Ethiopian engineers this time are based on the existing sound cooperation foundation between the two parties. Previously, ETR Medical has exported multiple sets of intelligent medical gas systems to Ethiopia, providing important life support for local medical institutions.
